हिंदी सिनेमा के सुप्रसिद्ध कलाकार दिलीप कुमार का 7 जुलाई 2021 को सुबह साढ़े सात बजे निधन हो गया। 98 वर्षीय कलाकार का मुंबई के एक अस्पताल में इलाज चल रहा था। उन्हें सांस लेने में तकलीफ के बाद 29 जून को मुंबई के एक अस्पताल में भर्ती कराया गया था। दिलीप कुमार का पार्थिव शरीर घर लाया गया है। शाम को जुहू, मुंबई के कब्रिस्तान में उन्हें सुपुर्द-ए-खाक किया जाएगा।
प्रधानमंत्री नरेंद्र मोदी ने दिलीप कुमार के निधन पर शोक जताया है। प्रधानमंत्री ने कहा कि उनका जाना हमारी सांस्कृतिक दुनिया के लिए एक क्षति है. प्रधानमंत्री ने दिलीप कुमार की पत्नी सायरा बानो से भी फोन पर बात की और दुख की इस घड़ी में परिवार को ढांढस बंधाया।

अभिनेता दिलीप कुमार के निधन पर पूरा देश और सिनेमा जगत शोक में डूबा है। अभिनेता अमिताभ बच्चन ने कहा कि जब भी हिंदी सिनेमा का इतिहास लिखा जाएगा, यह निश्चित तौर पर दिलीप कुमार से पहले और दिलीप कुमार के बाद का होगा। अन्य अभिनेताओं ने भी अपने शोक संदेश में परिवार के साथ संवेदना जताई है। इनमें अजय देवगन, अक्षय कुमार, मनोज वाजपेयी और जैकी श्राफ जैसे अभिनेताओं के नाम शामिल हैं।
